Criminal/Family Lawyer 2-3 PAE

Job Summary

Our client, a boutique practice located in the northern suburbs, has a busy 2020 ahead of them with the ongoing increase of cases. They now require a new addition to the team who is as passionate about continuing their success and maintaining their client-focused orientation as they are. You will work with an experienced and dedicated Principal who is committed to mentoring their new staff member, as well as a team of knowledgeable lawyers and legal support staff.

This role is ideal for an individual with experience in Criminal or Family Law, or a Criminal Lawyer who is interested in learning about and practicing Family Law. Ongoing support and mentoring will be provided, as well as the opportunity to grow your own client portfolio.

About You

  • 2-3 years PAE (preferred); individuals who have more experience than desired are also welcome to apply and will be considered by the client.
  • Background in Criminal or Family Law, or a Criminal Lawyer interested in gaining experience in Family Law.
  • History of managing own cases and clients.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A client-focused and empathetic orientation.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to respond well to instruction and delegate effectively to support staff.
  • Professional presentation.
  • A motivated, positive, and proactive personality.
  • Located in the northern suburbs (preferred) or willing to commute.

The Role

A generous salary package of up to $100k (incl. superannuation) to be negotiated depending on experience. Mentoring with an experienced principal will be on offer as well as a supportive and profession culture.

This role will see the successful candidate join a high-performing team culture and work with a diverse client base. About You

  • 1-3 years PAE is essential

Paralegal

Our client, a boutique practice located in the northern suburbs, is looking to add a suitably experienced Paralegal to their team. This firm has recently increased their workload and now requires additional support from an individual who is looking to step up to their next challenge. You will be supporting the Principal and Senior Family Lawyer within the practice, and will be an integral part of the firm’s success.

About You

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Paralegal in Family Law (essential).
  • Highly knowledgeable in the area of Family Law and State regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused orientation.
  • Strong document preparation, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong research skills.
  • High attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, with a high-volume workload.
  • Friendly and positive personality.
  • Professional presentation.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office programs.

The Role
